Sep, 2021

On Tuesday, September 21, the Orleans Parish School Board hosted a training session for board members with Beloved Community, a New Orleans-based non-profit consulting firm, on debiasing selection and hiring processes. The one-hour session allowed board members to hear from a local organization leading the way in diversity, equity and inclusion practices. Beloved Community presented ways to reduce bias in hiring, having inclusive talent recruitment practices and more, while also allowing the board to ask questions throughout the session to dive deeper into discussion topics. The training will assist the board in working to identify the search firm that will help with hiring the next superintendent for NOLA Public Schools.
