OPSB Superintendent Search Committee accepting applications for firms interested in assisting with the search for the next superintendent of NOLA Public Schools and launches website to keep the community informed

NEW ORLEANS – Following a special board meeting Tuesday, the Orleans Parish School Board (OPSB) announced it would work with a search firm to find the next Superintendent of Schools for NOLA Public Schools and launched nolasuperintendentsearch.com to keep the community updated on the search process.

At the special board meeting, the board ratified the request for qualifications (RFQ) that firms will use to apply to be the search firm assisting the board and community in identifying the next Superintendent. The Superintendent Search Committee held a working session on July 29th with the Caulfield Consulting Group to narrow down the ideal qualities of a search firm. The board published the RFQ for a firm on Tuesday, August 10, which can be viewed in full at nolasuperintendentsearch.com

“This is one of the most important undertakings that the board will ever do, and finalizing this RFQ was the first step in getting this process underway,” OPSB President Ethan Ashley said. “I thank the board for their contributions and their continued dedication to our district and the process of selecting the next leader of NOLA Public Schools.”

Moving forward, the Board is looking forward to receiving applications from search firms and will move quickly to identify the search firm in order to begin the engagement process with the community to create the job description to post and receive quality candidates.

As the process gets underway, the community is encouraged to visit the official site of the search for the next superintendent at nolasuperintendentsearch.com to stay apprised of all of the latest information regarding the search process. Featuring the latest news and updates, the site will serve as the primary source of information with a timeline of the search process, community survey form and more as the process moves through its phases.

“We want to be open and transparent as we move through this search, and having one place where the community can be involved and have its say is incredibly important to us,” District 3 Representative Olin G. Parker said. “We’re excited to engage with the community on this as we look for the next transformative leader of NOLA Public Schools.”
