NEW ORLEANS – Greenwood/Asher & Associates (G/A&A), a woman-led executive search, consulting and training firm with over 2,000 searches completed has been selected by the Orleans Parish School Board (OPSB) to assist the Board with selecting the next superintendent for NOLA Public Schools. The board voted unanimously to hire the search firm G/A&A and together G/A&A and the Board will be engaging with and relying on the community in the process of selecting the next leader of NOLA Public Schools.
“After reviewing several search firm applicants and interviewing two qualified search firms, we decided to partner with Greenwood/Asher & Associates to find the next transformative leader of our school district,” OPSB President Ethan Ashley said.
For a district as diverse as the one in New Orleans, the OPSB was looking to partner with a firm that has the capacity to attract top talent from all walks of life. In working with G/A&A, the search committee has found an organization that has appointed a woman or person of color in 57% of their searches.
“We are honored to be the search partner and share the goals of the Board to make this search transparent, equitable, and professional,” said Betty Asher, founder of Greenwood/Asher & Associates. “We are eager to engage with the many stakeholders on input that will inform our work.”
Recently, they were recognized by Staffing Industry Analysts as a Diversity Equity and Inclusion Influencer in the executive search space.
“The Orleans Parish School District is one with over $3 billion in total assets. We wanted to partner with a search firm of a high quality that knew what we had to offer to potential candidates as we move into the next phase of the process,” Ashley said. “Our board is confident that this firm will work with us to ensure a fair and level search process for all potential candidates.”
