Sep, 2021

Early stages of the search to find the new superintendent was put on pause due to Hurricane Ida and will resume later this month

The following is a statement from Orleans Parish School Board President Ethan Ashley:

As the city of New Orleans and the metro area continues to recover after Hurricane Ida, the Superintendent Search Committee made the decision on August 31 to pause all activities related to the process of finding the next superintendent for NOLA Public Schools. The board felt it was important to shift our full attention to the needs of the district and ensuring the safety and well-being of our students, faculty, staff and their families during the recovery process. As the district begins to return to regular operations, we will turn our attention to resuming the search in the coming weeks, with more information on the updated timeline for the process being announced at the next committee meeting this month.
